Antique Carriages

The old-time vehicle section has been a part of the festivities since the first parade in 1922. Leading the way is the newly restored Army Escort Wagon. Wagons like this helped transport supplies and troops to over 17 Cavalry Posts in Wyoming, Nebraska, Utah, Idaho and Colorado. It was used at Camp Carlin, the second largest quartermaster depot in the United States, which was located outside of Cheyenne. This camp was the early predecessor to the current Francis E. Warren Air force Base. Today we honor the women and men who settled the prairies of the Wild West.
