Ice Wagon

Ice Wagons, such as this one, carried huge cakes of ice saved from frozen lakes. Sloan’s Lake, located in Holliday Park, was a source of ice for the Cheyenne community. Cut from the lake in the winter, the ice was stored in sawdust to prevent thawing and then delivered door-to-door during the summer.
