Abbot and Downing a premier carriage builder in the 1800s made only four of these carriages known as the Roof Seat Coach. Owned by the J. M. Carey family, around Cheyenne this coach was known as the “Carey Mail” and was used to transport mail and passengers north on Carey Avenue to the family’s large ranch.
